Swim
Technique first. Warm up easy, hold form through the main set and finish with relaxed drills. Sets work in 25 m, 50 m and 25 yd pools.
Bike
Most riding should feel conversational. Keep cadence at 85-95 rpm and save the hard efforts for interval days.
Run
Run the easy runs genuinely easy. Long runs build race resilience more than any single hard session.
Your metrics explained
Fitness — the training you have absorbed over roughly the last six weeks. It climbs slowly and fades slowly.
Fatigue — the cost of your recent week. It spikes after hard days and drops quickly with rest.
Race readiness — how your fitness compares with what your race distance demands, adjusted for how fresh you are. It peaks during a well-executed taper.
Frequently asked questions
How is my plan built?
We take your race distance, the weeks between your start date and race date, your weekly availability and your preferred days, then place swim, bike and run sessions so the same discipline never lands on back-to-back days. Volume builds progressively, every sixth week is an easier recovery week, and the final two weeks taper so you arrive fresh.
Can I move sessions?
Yes. On the training plan page you can drag a session onto another day, or open the session and choose a new date. A move that would put two sessions of the same discipline on consecutive days is blocked.
What if I cannot complete a session?
Open the session and cancel it. It stays visible but does not count towards your training load. Every bike session also carries an alternative of an hour or less for days when time is tight.
How do fitness, fatigue and readiness work?
Fitness is an exponentially weighted 42-day average of your training load and fatigue is the same calculation over 7 days. Form is fitness minus fatigue. Train and fitness rises while fatigue spikes; rest and fatigue falls quickly while fitness fades slowly. Race readiness blends the fitness you have built for your distance with how fresh you are.
Where do activities come from?
Completing a planned session logs it automatically. Connecting Strava imports your rides, runs and swims so your numbers reflect everything you do, with duplicates filtered out.
Are brick sessions included?
Brick sessions, a run straight off the bike, are available for intermediate and experienced athletes and are shown grouped together on the same day.
Which units and dates do you use?
Metric by default, with kilometres or miles, kilograms or pounds, metres or yards and Celsius or Fahrenheit available. Dates are DD/MM/YYYY, weeks start on Monday and times follow Europe/London including British Summer Time.
